Helloo, I’m having a lovely time at the beach and taking some time off and relaxing – I hope you are doing the same.

2013 was a big year for this little family, the tail-end of the year hasn’t been all roses actually, but that didn’t stop the tablescaping!

Some pretty tables below….

I love vintage and collect vintage bottles, great to gather together for big impact…. throw in some sea glass found on the beach and you’re laughing!

 blue sea glass bottles

…talking of blue, ahem there may or may not have been a leetle bit of OTT-ness with the old blue vintage mason jar, I must say her popularity in this old cottage is waning ever so slightly, I don’t think she’s made an appearance this Christmas but I still pretty much love how you can pull her out and boom you have easy table dressing…

…this year has been the year my herb garden has really taken off, it’s taken a while to get it established and to be honest once I seemed to give up on it all it suddenly thrived…key for me and the garden has been water, duh, anyway herbs and garden bits in little jam jars make for a lovely table…

…this below was after Pottery Barn opened in Sydney, oh my, what a fabulous experience and Pottery Barn with a Beach Cottage twist…

I still love a good thing or two tied to the roof….here we have a mason jar, only this time flying…

   blue vintage mason jar tablescape….

I have seriously de-crappified this year, and that’s continuing in 2014, I’m determined to live with less stuff and avoid the consumerism band-wagon, easier said than done sometimes I think….the simpler more streamlined thing translated to tables too - simple stripes, gingham and coastal style here

along with herbs, after a few years of mediocre in the hydrangea department, they all of a sudden took off and at one point there was a hydrangea at every single turn in this old cottage….

I love a good lantern, they work perfectly for coastal style, pop a few flowers in too and a shell and you pretty much don’t have to do a lot else :-)

That’s it from me I’m enjoying spending time with my lovely little family…

Much love

Ooooo! I agree with Sunny. Coffee table book would be on my Christmas list. Next year, maybe?

In one post I asked you where all the seaglass is hiding on the beaches. Just needed to tell you that my seaglass collection has grown beyond one lonely piece so I’m pleased with its progress.

The end of 2013 has been bumpy for me too. But on the plus side, it has bought clarity and that in itself is an unexpected gift out of the blue.

I have done my Christmas decrappify. I did a count of how many gifts we received and perused the house to find the same number of items to donate to charity. Call me strange but I get a buzz out of doing this.

  4. Oh to de-crappify…that is TOP of my 2014 list…the husb and kids had better behave or they could be in danger of being tossed out too! Lovely pics xx

So nice to see a recap of the gorgeous tablescapes :)
Decluttering is one of my favorite things to do (which sounds kinda weird, but there ya go…). Here’s to a less stressful, happy healthy New Year for you and the BC crew!

Your tablescapes are so nice and casual, which I love. My favorites are the Pottery Barn one, along with the hydrangeas (gorgeous!) and that fantastic lantern. Strangely enough, I am decluttering and filling boxes for donation to charity this week, too. It feels great to clean house every once in a while. Happy New Year to everyone!
