Good afternoon.

The Thursday before Christmas here and I have finished work and have had a lovely day pottering around the house doing not a lot of not much.

Everything here is very calm, not that I have a single gift wrapped yet, but I do have the food bought and in the fridge (and copious amounts of chocolate).

This year we were doing our normal tradition (in Australia) of having the actual Christmas meal (turkey, ham and trimmings etc) on the evening of Christmas Eve when the sun and temperature has gone down.  This would be followed by packing up the meats and all the bits and bobs and having it all on Christmas Day down at our local beach (the one Barls can also come to) as a picnic.   However it’s now looking, according to the forecast, like Christmas Eve will be 35C and Christmas Day only 22C, so there may be a change of plan and we’ll have the meal on Christmas Day.

Whatever we end up doing I’m very very grateful for having my lovely family around me
