a beach cottage

Afternoon beach cottage friends.

I thought you might like to see what I got up to at the weekend….quite a nice little trip around the harbour for High Tea on  quite a nice glass sided vessel…man what did we do before phones…I snapped this with my phone (snapped many many pics as LOVE this city still as much now as the day we arrived fresh off the boat from the Motherland)…how did we get about before the mobile phone?  I mean we must have planned trips to the letter all long before we left – a meeting point, a rendez-vous time, maybe a back-up plan if things went wrong…now it’s a simple ‘I’ll text you when I get there’…have to say I love my phone and the Big Girl Camera is more and more becoming redundant…there’s less and less motivation for me to lug her about these days when I can whip the phone out…bit sad really…

I took two ferries to get to the meeting point for the cruise for High Tea, meeting up with a bunch of girlfriends, it’s a particularly lovely way to travel, pottering around the harbour wharf to wharf on a Sunday afternoon in Sydney, the sun shining through this city’s very special brand of Cloud Art.

I’m having a busy week here and it’s only Tuesday arvo – I’ve been doing a few styling floristry jobs (did some work for an acquaintance recently and it’s kinda snowballed)…it’s almost the dream job really, foofing around making flowers and flowery things for people and for their work/houses (I put a couple of them on Instagram if you want a nosey)…but really who am I kidding, what is a dream job, any job needs a shed load of effort and graft and hard work doesn’t it?

Rightio I am off, there is a bath on the horizon this evening, I have an excellent (very easy but looks not easy, love that) recipe to share, some pretty things I love, I’m off to my floristry course this week and on top of all that it’s school holidays and all three of one’s offspring are hanging around…note to self : am taking next week off and sitting on beach with book.

Talking books : the book I spoke about last week (with great new book smell), well, gosh, was it fabliss or was it fabulous, I opened it, got in the bath and read the whole thing in just over 24 hours, it was that good I couldn’t put it down, almost pulled a Reading All Nighter (love those).  If you haven’t read it JoJo Moyes Me Before You – I picked it up at a great price in the shop with the large w’s – the sequel comes out thurs…not that I am counting down the minutes or anything.

So long

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous picture. Many grandfather spent sone time in Sydney in the ’40s and always said it was one of his favorite places he’d ever gone.
