Goings on

Oh my gosh it’s the second day in a row of being awaken by tradies, not only ones ripping out bathrooms but also ones ripping out kitchen plumbing.  Everywhere I look there is a male with a tool and am engulfed in cloud of orange (least favourite colour) in the form of silt, plastic or dust.

But not only am I suffering from sleep deprivation, after all kiddos had left for their various places of education, rather than to be left in peace, take a walk down the hill to the sea or go and get a coffee, mr bc was still here and marching about in his Tradie Jeans (always worrying) and scooting around trying to be foreman – after copious attempts at steering him back to his office and to leave said tradies to what they do best (have excellent tradies) decided to head with Barls (and coffee) to the dog park.   Arrived to a very busy dog park (not keen on) and was happily minding own business drinking coffee and looking at trees when woman with lots of retrievers (golden) and one small black dog came into vision…at which point I witnessed one of retrievers (large, bouncy and overgrown hair) doing something to his owner which made me gasp.  Have never seen such a thing.

While watching this incident with jaw on the floor, phone slipped out of pocket and lost phone only to find it by wondering why mr bc (in Tradie Jeans, house-only jumper and nerd trainers) was walking up to me in the dog park looking for a man with Staffie, fuchsia pink collar and matching ball…said man had found my phone and called contact on phone labelled ‘HUSBAND’ who had told him what I (and Barls) looked like but to no avail.  Apparently were too many women in dog park in puffa jackets, jeans and boat shoes.

At this point decided could not take any more events at such ungodly hours of the day and hence why I am in here…in peace…on sofa with Barls (both traumatised by early rising)…. is nice and white in here – have finally removed self from all of the chaos, tidied up and Dettolled the whole of the family room, locked the door and will not emerge until orange is gone and there is no chance of witnessing dog park things…

I will see you hopefully tomorrow.

Poor little Sarah I feel your pain! Lock yourself away in your little “happy place”! That is most certainly what you need to do. You have made the right choice! I feel like that this morning. Had to run one teen to the bus for school camp, another to work. Than throw myself together to see hand surgeon to check progress of hand which was cut badly through 50% of the muscle just got back from all of that (with surgeon happy with progress asking have you been able to use it.? I say oh yes I have been painting walls! He was thrilled. So now have just read your blog, grabbed a bowl of cereal, cup of herbal tea and celebrated the fact that for once the house is empty and I am alone! Other kids at uni and work and today the stars aligned for once! I am in my happy place where I can play my music and have a certain peacefulness. So stay locked away Sarah ! You deserve it! Let the work be done on the other side of the door. I alas have housework to do, but I will be alone! Yay with jazz music soothing the soul. Enjoy your day and keep us posted hugs Ter

Oh and I forgot to mention you are so lucky to have great tradies! We have the perfect plumber but have had so much misfortune with the other trades. Still looking for trustworthy ones. Keep smiling Sarah you are one day closer to your beautiful home being the way you have it pictured in your head! Hugs Tee x

Glad to know I am not the only one who has difficulty with early rising and “tradies” in the house. Hang in there :)

  3. Thank you for giving me a laugh today Sarah. Good luck tomorrow. xo

I am laughing and cringing at the same time…at the dining room table. Not behind locked door. So now I’m laughing, cringing and jealous all at the same time…
