Helloooo – little bit of tablescape vignetting today in beach cottage land…I was recently in a local very naice coastal boutique on the beaches, they have some lovely stuff and I always (ahem) treat myself to a little something in there…because, you know, I don’t have enough home decor in my life (good job they don’t sell wedges actually)…anyway, some of the dining table displays were beautiful (if not a tad on the unrealistic side, there must have been twenty pieces of coral on one of the settings, some of which were priced at thousands of dollars, must say too made me shudder a bit that that had been plucked out of the ocean, the coral I have is not errrm real).

But I came away thinking I’m so going to have a little display soon on my own table…I mean I need niceness down the other end of the house away from that horrendous excuse for a kitchen…so the table I saw in the shop was sporting coral and lanterns, I wanted mine a bit more vintage coastal so plucked a few bits from around and about and went from there… have to say I do love an old vintage bottle, white flowers, candles and books…

If you have been following me on instagram you’ll know that I have recently had some candle scent samples made up from a boutique candle pourer with a little beachside workshop up the coast…I LOVE candles and really wanted to try a few of my own scents…so far I’ve tried a few blends – citrus peel, eucalyptus and peony, plum, musk and cucumber, aussie gum, wild mandarin and fresh leaves and the one here is seaside citrus trees, coastal blooms and wild aussie herbs.  I’m loving them and she’s keeping me well stocked up with little batches…I don’t think I’ll be needing candles for a while, on the other hand one can never have too many candles in one’s life

Anyway that’s it from me for the day, I’ll be the one with the nice smelling house ;)

Oh and I have an ‘after’ to show you, finally things are getting there – the sitting room is grey, a grey I’m loving, more deets on the colour and pics etc soon xo

    Beautiful, Sarah!
Love that you use faux coral. It’s just as pretty, doesn’t take from our oceans and doesn’t smell!
Thanks for posting pictures of your flowers. I have two slightly jerky cats who like to chomp on any flora brought into the house. No matter how high up vases go, they find a way to get up there.
