easy smoothie recipe abeachcottage.com

Howdy, still feeling very Spring like here, funny that seeing as we are right on into Spring now.  I am back from a lovely morning at the mall with my shopping and vintage treasure hunting friend Michelle, we had such fun, I was amazingly restrained and good, umm her not so much, even though I did keep saying ‘do you really need that’  hahaha retail therapy is good is it not?

Talking of retail therapy, well of the domestic kind, egads I have bought myself a robotic vacuum cleaner.  Let’s just say the earth moved for me when this thing zipped around the house doing its thing, flipping heck this is life changing , but I do feel just a smidgen on the side of total slob at the amount of stuff it has picked up already.  Yowzas.  Yes my life is that exciting that a robotic vacuum cleaner does all sorts for me.  If you are thinking of getting one, don’t hesitate (I’ll be popping more info on what brand I got and the ins, outs, pros and cons in my newsletter – this has been a long time coming and I have done a mahusive amount of research – sign up at the top of the blog here if you want in).

Anyhoo back to smoothies and smoothie recipes, I have blogged here how these too are life changing, well ok then not quite life changing (though I have read about people on the internet whose diet was so lacking in veggies and good things that a green smoothie has literally changed their life), but definitely very very good for the intake of self’s vitamins (and minerals?  who knows about that part but sounds good right?).

Now, I have a little card up my sleeve when talking, making and digesting smoothies, it comes in the name of a young lady who lives with me, one who does not sport tuck shops, whose abs are what mine were 495 years ago (kidding my abs ain’t never looked like that) and who believes an hours run is a warm up to a blinding workout.   Her name is Miss BC and she is a person who likes vegetables, salads, fruits, concoctions of healthy things and yes smoothies.

The benefits of living with this person is I get to try out things I, to be quite honest, cannot be faffed with normally, but when she is around I get not only to try but to be served good stuff.  Works for me.  Wah.

This is a breakfast smoothie to my mind – you throw some nice bits and bobs on the top and everything is done and dusted in one big healthy hit.  Hero?  Yes so a breakfast hero.

Banana, Blueberry & Coconut Breakfast Smoothie

1 carrot

1 small cucumber

2 celery sticks

1 banana

1 lg handful blueberries (we used mostly frozen)

2/3 cup almond milk

2tbsp vanilla yoghurt

2 tbsp muesli

1. add all but yoghurt, muesli and coconut to blender, blend the life out of it (add water if you need to), top with yoghurt, muesli and coconut, sit back and feel very gloaty, virtuous and think about what, because you have been so good, you can have with your arvo tea that is, ahem, not quite so good.

I’ll see you soon, I have a vintage find in the house, you are going to love it, I nearly died.

Sarah

p.s. on zee trying on of zee summer clothes this morning have realised muffin top, arms and umm other places need to go, am using this Courgette Soup recipe for next few months to shred said things – have heard it does amazing things for weight loss the eating of courgette soup in the day, shall see…

Gorgeous Smoothie there – I (we) in this household are massive smoothie lovers.
I also love hearing that Miss BC is a mad health nut. It is such a great thing in the world of teenagers and fast food!

Interesting smoothie recipe worth trying. A good way to add more veggies to your day.

I recently bought some large bottles of Nudie juices for a family Fathers’ Day breakfast. I don’t usually buy juice but wow I was impressed with them. Don’t go by the look of them. The flavour combos are tasty and interesting.
