Hellooo, I’ve been busy here, people to see, places to go…I’ve feel like I’ve hardly unpacked my bags from California, let alone gone through the photos…

So anyway, today I had a look at some of the things I brought home with me…the vintage quilt I found treasure hunting is currently in the laundry room tub soaking away, it was in very fragile condition but needed to be washed, I hope it survives.  To be honest here, I shouldn’t have even attempted to wash it, but I cannot stand the thought of dry cleaning, the idea of those chemicals, I’ve never liked it and NEVER buy anything that needs to go to the dry cleaner…so I am hoping my vintage quilt, hand-stitched by someone in the USA (at least I think so) and now calling an old Australian cottage on the beaches of Sydney home, makes it through the washing and enjoys being dried under the Aussie sun…

This picnic hamper is the other thing that winged it’s way home from the states with us…to say I have had my eyes open for one of these for, oh about 15 years, is an understatement…I had hoped to find an old worn vintage one on my trip to California…I love a good picnic basket in my life.

So the day I found this handmade picnic basket was a happy day…there was a long discussion about whether or not we had any space or weight left to bring it home but more importantly whether or not it would get past Australian Quarantine’s wood restrictions…we took a chance…and luckily she’s in and part of the family ;) you’ll see many guest appearances from her in Beach Cottage Land…just wait to that sunshine and warm weather comes back in a few weeks time, I’ll be getting my cost per wear from this baby that is for sure…

I couldn’t resist trying her out on my bike…

Be seeing you

Love it :) I love picnic baskets but unfortunately, we don’t find ones like this here. And yeah, your quilt will survive :)if it survived being vintage, it definitely will survive being clean. Good luck and dying to see it :)
