G’day, how are you, are you in Christmas table dressing mode yet, well after a large gathering here at the weekend outside on our deck, I am definitely hostess with the Christmas mostess, haha…anyway I thought you might like to see these easy napkin ‘ring’ ideas – a traditional greenery, a bit of rustic with some cinnamon, and a coastal vintage style beach cottage twist.

I’m all about natural this Christmas (these would be lovely on your Thanksgiving table too if you celebrate), I wanted rustic and scented so I tied bits to the napkins

I used a neutral nautical stripe fabric ripped into strips but you could easily use string instead….

and tied it over greenery and cinnamon sticks….and added a few shells…kept the table really simple and bare just with a stripe runner and a little tree with a wrapped bottom (I cut a square from a drop cloth and tied it with coastal stripe fabric)

Any old greenery or sticks etc would work to pop under the tie, I am going to try ivy for my next guests, I have lots growing over the back fence, also thinking olive and bay leaves would be nice…both of those are free for the picking in my garden too…

A simple little table dressing idea…very very easy, and very good on the pocket…and smells lovely too…doesn’t take any crafting skill, you could get the kiddos to do this but makes a lovely addition to a Christmas table…

    Hi Sarah,
I live in Sydney’s inner west, and would love to know where you get your starfish, and also the shell balls etc that you often use in your styling. Around here they cost a fortune!
    Cheers!
