Morning Beach Cottage ladies, we have Miss Beach Cottage here this morning with a super easy healthy smoothie recipe, she loves them and at the weekend made this one, it’s delish so I asked her if she’d like to share.

I’m back from my walk by the sea with Barls this morning, it’s a very very warm Spring day over this way and there is a huge breeze – feels like I need to do a hundred loads of laundry just because it’s a ‘Laundry Day’, know what I mean?  I won’t be tho ;-)

I did a few yoga stretches too down by the beach on the grass such a nice way to start the day.

Spring Smoothie

Hello Beach Cottage followers its Miss BC here, haven’t caught up with any of you for a while so why not share my fave little snack to have? The cold Winter has left here Down Under and the salt in the Summer air is coming. With the warm weather I have been making this nutritious smoothie as a great start to the day.

Grabbing whatever I can find in our old cottage and some extras from the fridge and freezer  I whip up these smoothies in the blender.   I do a lot of sport and need things to keep me going and am really interested in healthy eating and nutrition so these help me to get goodness and energy.

I always like to have some sort of berries (strawberries are a bargain atm) and a banana, along with any other yummy fruits we may have. I tend to like mine fruity but my mum likes more veggies so you can always mix it up and add in veggies and salad.  I also like to add some yogurt or milk for calcium.

When I get in from training on the weekend I make them, I always do a big batch and keep leftovers for later, or the following day. They do keep well when refrigerated. These smoothies are full of nutrition for your servings of fruit and vegies giving you a boost to get you through the day. They are light on the stomach and always make me feel better.

Spring Smoothie Recipe  - Strawberry, Banana, Mandarin, Banana & Coconut Water

1 cup chopped pineapple

2 cups strawberries

1 mandarin

1 banana

1/2 can coconut water

Put all in blender and turn on to blend.  Add some ice if you like them cold.

So have a go, grab what you can find and mix it all up and enjoy. This combo is a very tasty one.  Add your favourites and come up with a smoothie that you love and let me tell you your blender will get a good use.

    Ah Miss BC..you got that beautiful flair of narrating which I am liking very much and yes your smoothie recipe rocks. I am from the dusty tropics but we do get fresh strawberries here… def worth a try.
