Aloha, it’s nearly the weekend, it’s a happy day and it’s Beach Cottage Giveaway time, woo hoo…Beach Cottage ladies I love me a vintage inspired bicycle…and I love giveaways!  …there is nothing quite like pedalling along by the sea with the wind in your hair, a basket on the front, a flask of something nice and all the while exercising…for free…can’t much beat that right?

When I got my bike for my birthday a few years ago, the budget in this old cottage wasn’t pretty and to say I was happy with the bike and loved it so very much is an understatement…I definitely stroked her…those poor souls that live in this cottage with me know that she was propped around this old cottage, leaning in places she really shouldn’t have been just so I could stare…

Anyway, so the other day I was sitting on the beach minding my own business and this girl rocked up with a lovely bike and basket…she parked it not far from me, pulled out the basket and off she went with me admiring her bike…when she came back I had finished my little sit on the beach and as I passed by she smiled and I said what a nice bike it was…she replied saying that it was a birthday present and she had been wanting one for years and years but could never afford it, the bike was a combined birthday and graduation present for years of study and to say goodbye to student life and hello to a salary.  Hmmm, interesting…nice when you hear stories like that isn’t it?  It reminded me of how much I loved my bike when she first arrive too…

So, guess what, I thought you know what, I reckon the ladies of Beach Cottage Land might like a chance to win a bike …we all love a blog giveaway, free stuff and competitions…and so here we are this morning with a lovely vintage inspired bike and the latest giveaway from me, I hope you like it…

What’s on offer :  vintage inspired bicycle in your choice of colour, open worldwide (if you’re outside Australia an alternative to the same value will be shipped)

I am using a form for entries this time to make it a little easier, all you need to do is pop in your name and email address (so I can contact the winner) and pop your comment in the box below.

Happy Days

wow! What fun! of course it won’t be feasible to ship a bike if I won, but hey the fun’s in imagining what you’d do with it. I’d take it to work man…i’ll lose those oodles of lovely fat around my thighs and how my vintage loving girlies would be jealous!

i had something similar when I was in college- but white :) Fell down so many times, so many memories there- May the best girl win!!

  5. Annie M says:

    Hi Sarah,
Love the idea of winning that beautiful bike but I am having problems leaving my comment. Everytime I go back to correct a mistake I cannot continue afterwards…is this just a problem for me? Also I have been in England for the past two weeks as my dear old Dad passed away. I haven’t been able to read your blog as I had very limited Internet access so I am really looking forward to catching up on Beach cottage land but can’t work out how to read previous posts further back than about 5. Can you help?

  6. Patti Carroll says:

I am having trouble leaving my comment. Hope I don’t duplicate. If I won this cool bike, I would ride over to my 7 year old grandaughters house, pick her up, and we would both ride to the park and swing, swing, swing just like I did when I was her age.
She is the light of my life and I would love to win this bike sooooo much. Thanks for the opportunity to try to win.

  7. Julie says:

I have always, always wanted one of these gorgeous vintage bikes. And the one pictured is just perfect in color and style. I too would want to display it, whilst I am not riding it, so that I could see it all the time…! Just perfect for riding anywhere and everywhere!

  19. holy moses! you are a generous soul indeed! i would fill my basket with hydrangeas and sunflowers…i’d add the novel “wuthering heights” and a bottle of pink lemonade. i’d throw in a small vintage quilt and my french straw hat. then i would whisk away to a patch of green under the flowering trees over by the lake. i’d spend a few hours lingering about dreaming and wishing. thank you for this chance to win! blessings to you!!

  20. Mari says:

In my dreams I take my beautiful vintage bike to go to the market in the morning to buy some fresh food. On my way back home I drop into a bakery to buy some crispy bread and croissants. A basket on my bike is just perfect and big enough for all this delicious food. After a long breakfast in the garden I take my bike to go to the beach. I make some snacks and a bottle of refreshing drink to take with me and put them into the basket with my favourite book and a plaid. After a couple of hours on seaside, being back at home, I pick a bouquet of flowers from garden and go to see my friend. I stop by a grocery to buy a bottle of wine and put it into the basket with flowers. After a dinner I feel I have eaten a bit too much. Ride back home on my bike is exactly what I need now.

  21. Julie Johnson says:

Love the bike! Perfect beachy color to ride on by the ocean.

  22. Gabrielle says:

Hi Sarah..I submitted the form so I hope it went through. I’d love to win this bike..love everything about it. We have a tandem which we ride all over out neighborhood, especially in the summertime. This would be great if I want to ride single. thanks for the giveaway.

  23. Lark says:

I would love to win a new bike, since my oldest daughter took mine after she grew out of her old one. I have been wanting to ride my bike to pick up groceries and haul them home in a cute little basket!! The beach is definitely beckoning too!

  24. Tamara says:

Sarah, You’re the best! A bike!

  25. Adrianne B says:

That is the cutest stinkin’ bike ever. Fingers crossed!

  26. Melissa says:

Thanks for the chance to win this gorgeous bike. I have submitted the form too. xx

  27. Jos says:

    Hi Sarah,
Are those bikes comfy to ride and how many speeds do they come with? I’m seriously in the market – was out looking today but can’t decide! Saw a v cool green one that had a studded seat! (It’s all about the looks as well as the technical after all). Bike man laughed saying women come in fixated on colour all the time!!!!! Yeah, well, go figure!

  28. Aisling McCarthy says:

Hi sarah my form didn’t take but i would love to win this bike. It would be soo cool to ike along our local shore and stop for a coffee at a local beach cafe that is just a little too far to walk :) it would also be great to encourage the kids to bike more and we could go for s ride on a Sunday afternoon. It gors with the colour of my house too! Aisling

  29. Laura Ramey says:

Your form snapped and disappeared. I would take my bicycle to the farm market for flowers for the basket. May i please have a wooden basket- i will also need a fatter seat so my bottom will not look as though it is gobblin up the seat as I ride ;)

  30. Kim says:

Would really like to win a bike instead of sitting around this house all day and weekends!

  31. Christine Hutchinson says:

I would love to take this bike down to lake Pocotopaug, drive around with the wind in my hair and the sun on my face. After passing the tennis courts,I might stop at my local grocery store(since I have a basket on my bike) and pick up some nice juicy red apples for my four legged friends at the stables to keep that feel good vibe goin on………:D

  32. Lori R. says:

What an awesome way to add to my workout regime. I could certainly use a change from the elliptical and many machines in the torture chamber. Pool workouts to come when the heat ramps up a bit but riding a bike would be awesome!

  33. felicity says:

I would be delighted to ride amidst a garden bathed in moonlight, under a sky full of stars surrounded by faintly scented petals and sea breezes.
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to win this bike :)

  34. Annie M says:

Would love to win that beautiful bike! It is just perfect that baby blue colour…would fit right in with my predominantly blue decor…oh what ? You are supposed to ride it somewhere?? But it’s too pretty, I would just want to gaze and fondle….well maybe I could take it for a little ride around my home town in the Blue Mountains…I think maybe it’s adorable vintage ness might just fit in here. Wonderful giveaway Sarah…thank you once again for the pleasure your blog brings to all us mere mortals xx

  35. Rachel says:

    Hey Sarah,
What a treat!! Love this amazingly generous giveaway! I have entered this comp and think my form went through, didn’t get any error messages… so fingers crossed! Thanks so much for a chance to win this gorgeous bit of vintage goodness. xo Rachel
P.s methinks one should be wearing floaty white linen garments whilst cycling this baby, however that could prove rather precarious considering my biking skills…or should I say lack there of…one could end up in a rather crumpled linen heap at the bottom of a hill. Maybe not so very fetching eh?!

  36. Nikki says:

Sarah! You are a wonderfully sweet soul whose generosity will not be overlooked! That gorgeous sea foam vintage beauty will make some girl extremely happy! I hope I am in the running…you are truly an inspiration!

Thank you for paying it forward!
Nikki lover of all things white! xox

  37. Wow! This is my dream bike. I love everything about it! What a generous soul you are. It truly is true that ‘it is more blessed to give, than to receive’, so may blessings come your way through this extremely generous give away. You and your blog have been such a blessing to me over the years, as I’ve followed along since early on in your move to Aussie land from England. Love it that you share so willingly. However, this give away Is one time I’d love to be on the receiving end of things. ; )
Thanks again for the opportunity to try. I would ride this vintage styled beauty everywhere…

  38. Kristi says:

Great give-a-way Sarah! I did find, for those of you having trouble, if you hit next then go back to make your changes it does work. :)

    • felicity says:

Thankyou for your comment above, I thought my computer was being a menace again ;) have a great day!

      • Kristi E says:

You’re welcome, I thought the same thing till I read all the comments and saw that it want just me! :D

  39. Jan says:

Oh, Sarah, my husband and I just returned from a trip of a lifetime through Italy and Bavaria. Last Sunday, as we walked to the art museums, I was admiring the use of bicycles all over the city and the country and lamenting that I did not have a bicycle of my own. I vowed that upon our return home I would begin saving my coins to acquire a bicycle (because, you know, we just blew through the “fun money fund” we’d been saving for three years toward this trip).

Soooo, what would I do with this beautiful bicycle…for starters, I would be hopping on it to run errands in our small midwest town. How much fun that would be instead of hopping wastefully in the car. But, Sarah, oh Sarah, my DREAM would be to ride my bicyclette through Provence with a bottle of wine, a crusty baguette, and a wee bit of cheese and fruit in my basket while the wind blows through my hair to have a picnic with my petit ami.

  40. Sarah says:

    Hi Sarah!
I don’t know if my other comment went through so I will leave one here as well. Sorry if there is a duplicate. I would ride to the farmers market so I could fill my lovely basket with fresh flowers and a loaf of French bread. Thanks so much for the giveaway!

  41. Christy says:

Hi Sarah! I absolutely LOVE this bike. I’ve wanted one for a few years – but have never had the opportunity to buy one. I would ride it every chance I got – on the beach, on the sidewalks, around town, through my neighborhood. To say that I would enjoy this is an understatement! Love your website and blog! xo

  42. Lisa says:

Thank you for this great opportunity! Love your blog.

  43. Kerrie says:

    Hi Sarah,

    I also had

  44. Kerrie says:

Oops, sorry. I meant to say I also had trouble with the competition form. Looks like I also had trouble with this! A bike, particularly a gorgeous, vintage-style one like this would be lovely. I spend three hours of my day, every week day, driving my five year-old daughter to school along dirt roads. Exercise has been non-existent for me since we started this school routine. My children have bikes and I would love to be able to ride one of my own with them. It would be a great way to encourage us all to get outside and explore the wildlife and scenery on our River Murray property.

  45. Delcie says:

I’m not sure if my entry went in. I’d love a vintage bike to ride 3km into town for bread and milk, to ride along a country lane in the mountains looking for those odd leaves clinging to a bare wintry tree, to ride around Wentworth Falls Lake and explore its quaint village, to ride along The Esplanade when we visit Cronulla and to ride to the beach when we visit Avoca or Terrigal.

  46. Sue Mahaffie says:

My comment doesn’t seem to have popped up so I will do it again- I would love to ride my vintage bike along the boardwalk at Coolongatta with the sea breeze in my hair and the sun on my back.. I’d love the holiday that came with it too (as I live in Sydney)…

  47. Kelsey Danks says:

Hi Sarah! What a beautiful, lovely bike!! I have been dreaming about having exactly this type of bike for a while now–what a gift it would be to win this!! Thanks for your generosity!!

  48. Eileen says:

What a lovely bike..and I am enjoying your blog and definitely will share. I used to take my sick pup(RIP) in a basket on a bike on my days off but someone decided to “borrow” it. Would like to know the type of bike this is. I do a lot of volunteering on my days off at school gardens and would like to get on a pair of wheels again soon.
