G’day.  How you going out there?

So, here’s the thing..if you start a blog sometimes if you are unlucky you might get a little Blog Troll come join you one day..

…these are horrid little devils who cruise blogland leaving a yucky little trail behind them..

with luck yours won’t be too nasty…

that my friends is a negative of the internet and blogland…

it can bring up all sorts of things and those ‘anonymous’ blog trolls will feel completely at ease to write something down that they would never ever possibly do or say in their day to day life…

Thankfully I have had the minimum of blog trolls in BC Land

and most of mine have actually been quite funny to my warped sense of humour,

plus to be quite honest I am waaaaaay too busy to even think twice about blog trolls

but the other day I got this comment on my photography post…from ‘no-name’

‘talk to me when you have decent camera gear. your images and blog are at best: average. and I am still waiting to see why its called the Lucky country.’ (sic)

No Name you don’t mess around…

…yep I know my camera is far from top of the range and I wasn’t saying my images and certainly not my blog were the best

..but hey mate….I’ll tell you what I do know about…

come take a walk with me and I’ll show ya just why it’s called the Lucky Country

so this post is dedicated to No Name

& as they say in the Old Country

stick that in your pipe

see you next time BCer’s

love from

This is the perfect rebuttal. Beautiful images.

  2. Eileen says:

Oh how I recall the days of soccer training. Damn, you made good use of your time waiting for the kiddos! That birdie looks like he might be watching the soccer training too! Such gorgeous photos. I am loving those spider webs.
And the crashing on the rocks!! Totally awesome. Your blog is so far, far, far from average. It’s my favorite read.
Your experience with the troll, well, It just makes you wonder about the state of mind of those that have to tear others down to make themselves feel good. I guess that’s why trolls hide under bridges, and stay anonomous. ;)

  3. carla says:

Hmmmmm, sensing a bit of jealousy in this blog trolls post ;o) As I have mentioned before my husband is a professional photographer (and winner of many a photo comp) and obviously associates with other photographers all with top of the range equipment and not so top of the range equipment, and my husband agrees with me that you def have talent!

A photographer can take an impromptu photo on an iPhone and that talent WILL show through (as yours and theirs does-Yes I know a photographer who had to stand in and shoot a wedding when the booked photographer didnt turn up and he did it all on his iPhone and because he is talented they were stunning!)

REAL photographers are NOT snobby about their equipment because they HAVE talent and know many a wannabe with ALL the big name kit that take awful photos and just look so ‘try hard’. A ‘Photographer’ is not their camera, and a ‘Top of the range Camera’ does not a photographer make! xxxxxxx

PS Australia is the lucky for many a good reason not least because this blog troll ISN’T in it!!! Lol!!! x

  4. little treasures says:

I cracked right up when I read ‘stick that in your pipe’….the perfect comeback in every way. And for what it’s worth, I read your blog because I love love love the photos. Honestly. I think they’re beautiful and I often wonder how you manage to capture such white, bright, light pics. So suck on that, No Name.

  5. ah ha ha ha… i have to laugh…. i am kinda new to blogworld and i have never heard of ‘blog trolls…”…. I am literally laughing out loud at that name it seems to fit perfectly. Now about what that troll said… heemph.. I think it is all a bunch of bologna and rubbish. I love your pictures and I blog hop thru here often to see the beautiful photos of your country. Please ignore this troll and keep up the good work.

  6. Elizabeth (ejay) says:

    Hi Sarah,

Regardless of what your evil little blog Troll thinks or says I know a lot of people get great pleasure and inspiration from your beautiful photography and blog…I wonder if said Troll has taken into consideration how popular your blog is, if so I’s say jealousy is a curse.

    keep up the great work.

  7. Karen Hancock says:

    oh i love this post!

  8. Your photography is beautiful. It’s one of the reasons I continue to visit your blog. That and your witty writing and fun sense of humour. As for the lucky country, … It’s not that you ‘see’ it, it’s more that you ‘feel’ it, and poor No-Name you probably never will.

  9. kari says:

ROFLMAO!!!!!! OMG… Your sense of humor brightens my day!!! Keep doing what you’re fabulous at woman… bloggin’ & photographin’… ♥

  10. Kristy says:

Who cares if you are a professional photographer? I don’t. I enjoy the enthusiasm.
    Keep on truckin’…or bloggin’.
Cheers to ya from the deep South USA.

  11. Tammi says:

You know what ‘No Name’ for some of us and where we have come from this IS the Lucky Country!! and for your information the BC blog is up there with the best of them for many of those that follow Sarah!!

Go waste your energy on things that really count!!! Grrrr!!

Sorry for the rant Sarah, having a bad day and needed someone to take it out on :) I could of said a few choice words there but censored myself.

I think your blog and photography rocks and these gorgeous images of nature are just what I needed today….thank you.

  12. Maryanne says:

I think No Name is a little jealous….oh and I love the “stick that in your pipe” line, classic!

  13. Talex says:

I am probably one of those blog trolls – I don’t often comment – just come by for a look ….. but nothing “forces” me to do so….. but for the fact that I want to, because I like your blog. That particular blog troll is not forced to come here at all (and thank goodness doesn’t live here in Oz – who needs ‘em ) and I would just like to applaud your “grace under fire.” I can only imagine that you sure felt “a whole lot more” as I most certainly did and the fact that you handled it with such dignity is a testament to your lovely self. I might not have been so nice! The “rest” of us like and respect you very much – which is why we keep stopping by ……

  14. Well I don’t think you have ever claimed to be a professional photographer. But you take beautiful shots. I am always amazed what makes people take the time to leave such nastigrams. Did it really make her feel better doing it? Or him, perhaps I shouldn’t assume it was a woman.

  15. teresa says:

    ‘no name’,

please go find a lovely yellow vintage bicycle full of charm with a bell and a basket but without a seat and sit on it.

love to you, sarah, from winnipeg, manitoba canada
    teres <3 xo

  16. Kirstie says:

Wow to funny Sarah, how could they not know that we are the lucky country…tell the bugger to go google…I detect a huge amount of jealousy, they probably stalk you everyday and wished they where you!!! thats why the troll left you that nasty message…keep up your good work….Oh and how about a book of your amazing work that would well and truely stick it in there pipe and smoke it…lol

    Awesome photo’s btw!!!!

  17. Lee Mills says:

Yep definitely a troll and definitely has no idea what he is talking about…I think he.she has visited me too! LOL
I agree with your other lovely commenters, you keep on doing what you are doing, love it, love it and Australia, Sydney and especially the northen beaches is INDEED the lucky country! You go girl!!!

  18. lg says:

It takes a very vindictive person to actually leave a nasty comment – we all think mean things sometimes, but to put it into writing – well it’s not neccessary is it? lg xxx

  19. ahahahhhhhhhhh oh my gosh this is SOOO funny! I just wrote a post about gratitude, maybe ‘no name’ needs a quick read. ;)

  20. also, beautiful pics! WHAM!

  21. Emmi says:

Sarah, I love your blog and your photos! They are beautiful and capture Australia really well!
Haters will hate. Don’t let them get you down! Xox

  22. Carly says:

    1. Your photography is beautiful
    2. BC (to my knowledge) doesn’t claim to be a photography blog – rather a blog with photos
    3. ‘no name’ – take your jealousy elsewhere. I can only assume you are also a blogger who perhaps doesn’t have the BC success and thus you have endless hours of time to do nothing more than leave your negativity out there for others in blog land

    Thank you. That is all.

  23. winterwood says:

I hate how those people post in stuff they wouldnt have the guts to say in real life. Its just not nice! I had a very disturbing one once… I felt awful for weeks after reading it. Since then I have put comment moderation on my blog which isnt really what I want, but have to vet things once in a while – mostly spam!

  24. Alice says:

Sarah, your pictures are gorgeous. Obviously the little whiny troll doesn’t have much taste and must surely be blind to not see the beauty you captured in every day life. As for the lucky country? Hell yeah… I have lived in two other countries in my life, I visit one of those from time to time but the one I am always missing is my home Australia (the other one I may return to one day). There is something about the way the light falls on this land, the beauty of it all – the coast, bushland and its amazing red centre. This country isn’t weighed down by its history as Europe is, it feels young (though it is very old indeed)… There is something very different about this country. I can’t put my finger on it to describe it but its there…..

I love the pictures with the eagle and the dove. Loving too the ones where the water is over the stones, beautifully captured Sarah keep it up it’s one of the reasons why I continue to follow your blog…

  25. Ava says:

Sarah, these people, not only envy your talent, they envy your faith in yourself and your confidence. Please continue to shine. Australia is proud of you, and itself . A lucky country , so much luckier because you’re in it xx

  26. Katherine says:

LOL you rock Sarah and your photographs are beautiful!

  27. Well done to you Sarah for naming and shaming, little small minded no name.. and ditto what Teresa said lol.. your photos are wonderful and your blog is warm, uplifting, inspiring and funny, I love it! x

  28. zoe wilms says:

Sarah, love your blog ~ read it every day. You can only feel sorry for ‘no name’, for being so bitter and jealous ~ two awful traits.

  29. Isabel says:

    Well done, Sarah!

  30. I believe if you have nothing constructive to say then don’t say it!! I hate these negative comments from people who obviously have nothing better to do!! Well said Sarah!!

  31. Tiff says:

Talent shines through even when the tools aren’t the best. That’s what I see and enjoy coming back to see :)
And it wouldn’t be a lucky country for that troll if he/she revealed themselves whilst on our soil!!! ;)

  32. Love this post Sarah! You are so not average!! Lol.

  33. jojo3b says:

I enjoy and appreciate your photography, it has made me look at the tiny things, the sparkley things, and the simplest of things a little more closely.
I also enjoy your clever witty writing, adventures, the Saturday Club encouraging us to look after ourselves that little bit more.Wednesdays Parties encouraging us to show off what we’ve been up too.
Thank you Sarah, for sharing your BC blog with us,my day is definitely a little more sparkley with your blog in it. :)

  34. Jacqui says:

Wow Sarah I can’t believe how hurtful people can be, especially when what they say is obviously untrue! Your beautiful photos are definitely what keeps me coming back, and only serve to inspire me! I’m not really sure what the equipment has to do with it??? Aren’t we all doing the best we can do with the tools/equipment we have? Perhaps “No Name” would like to donate to your stock of photography equipment?!

  35. Those pictures are amazing!!

Trolls are everywhere, so glad that you can just brush it off.

  36. Robynne says:

…and smoke it!!! I guess that comes with the territory, Sarah, and at the end of the day I am like you…doing this for me, appreciating the benefit and positives associated with blogging, and thoroughly enjoying developing my photographic skills! Robx

  37. Robynne says:

p.s. nobody could showcase my lucky country better than you have! Robx

  38. Fiona says:

Hi Sarah – I love your photos. People can be so petty. I had a comment once about my post on my new ktichen renovations along the lines of “with some decent photos this would look good”. I was only new to blogging and thought my photos were ok (and you know i still think they are fine!) but felt like i’d been slapped in the face when i read that.
But you know WE ARE THE LUCKY COUNTRY!! and i so support you in that!
you have so many fans so feel happy about that.
    cheers Fiona

  39. Christina Kingsmill says:

to No Name … if you dis-like this blog so much why do you spend time reading it? Go get your own life!

to Sarah … keep on rocking especially in those Hunters!!

  40. Emma says:

I love your cobweb photos Sarah – Beautiful work!

  41. Deanne says:

Love you Sarah and your funtastic blog!
What ever happened to the saying “if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all”

  42. no name is a loser!

    simple really!

as they say in the Lucky Country- we all think your blog is a “bloody beauty” Sarah!!

from this aussie gal in the old country who loves a BC fix!!!!

    Melissa x

  43. I looked up TROLL in the dictionary..and it had a picture of an ugly little person all shrivelled up and miserable..and they said something about never reaching their happy spot…or lucky spot for that matter.
    I ADORE your pictures!!!
I also love your rebuttal!!! LOL **HIGH FIVE** You know you have arrived when you have a Troll!!

  44. Marnie says:

Like a lot of things in life, it’s not about the equipment, it’s about the operator. You’d take great shots with a Box Brownie.
You’ve gotta laugh at how gutless some people can be.
    Gotcha back, girl
    X Marnie

  45. Awesome rebuttal, Sarah! I dealt with my fair share of trolls when I had my beauty blog. I was picked apart in my comment section and on message boards (which I discovered thanks to my stat counter, sneaky buggers)…I was called emaciated, anorexic, fat (based on THE SAME PHOTO), ugly, stupid, elitist, unqualified to blog, “trying to be Carrie Bradshaw”…you name it. I had people write in and tell me they hoped my boyfriend would dump me. I had one troll tell me they’d spotted me out and about and hated my outfit…now that was creepy.

Most comments were so asinine that I just laughed them off…but then every once in a while one would come along that made my blood boil. Oooh! Meanies on the internet. I’d just love to meet them in real life and force them to say those things to my face. :)

  46. kathy says:

SARAH I love YOUR blog, dont change your photos, puleese and arent we Aussies just so lucky to have great Pommies like you come to share our Lukcy (Beautiful) country. It is your blog to have what you want on it, I thought that was the whole idea ????Isnt it like the TV if you dont like whats on their – DONT LOOK AT IT ~ LOL.
Awesome blog today :) High 5

  47. kathy says:

i am a little tired, scuse the typing errors *insert slightly coy grin* but i just had to put in my 20 cents worth

  48. Karen says:

I don’t think any more support is needed, but NoName has NoClue and NoCreativity. Keep brightening our days, I am about to send you some pics of my very English garden. LOVE your blog and LOVE your pics, you are an inspiration. And THAT is true art. x

  49. Paula says:

    Hah! way to go girl!!!!

  50. sharran miles says:

Hi Sarah …..I look foward to reading your blog everyday your photos, ideas and everything you inspire me !!! no name just doesnt get it!!!…..

  51. Heaven says:

Sarah, your pictures are awesome. Jealousy makes people say hateful things. Whoever “no name” is, they’re simply jealous because you have a happy, full, amazing life and they’re obviously very unhappy in theirs.

Keep doing what you do because it’s what makes your blog so fabulous!

  52. Beth says:

You have got to be kidding!!! Average??? Get away!! What a cheek! Maybe no name needs to get the screen cleaner out…?

  53. Krisztina says:

I was … a very long time ago … trained as a photographer and worked in the industry for many moons before moving on to different pastures … and let me tell ya … your pictures are just grand!!! I love them! They capture inspiration and beauty. They all have a story to tell … maybe no name needs a paintbrush and a can of white paint to relax with …

  54. michelle says:

little things….thats what you need to keep telling yourself.

Let me tell you my husband is a professional celebrity and music photographer and he has commented on many occasions how fab your pictures are, that you take a lot of time ‘setting the scene’, lights good etc etc. I kind of glaze over a little but you get my point!

you keep doing what you are doing because it is brilliant and we can all relate to you on so many levels.

    amen x

  55. Laura says:

Wow, there’s some mean people out there… I always wonder what goes through the mind of someone, who actually feels better after saying a negative comment?? Yeah, I’m all for constructive criticism, but when a comment isn’t adding anything other than just being pure nasty, you have to ask yourself what sh*t is going through their mind? Do they just want to make everyone else feel like that?? Your pictures and blog can only make people feel better. Lx
I’ll probably end up picking up a blog troll now myself!!

  56. Jo says:

No Name… such shame, gutless and mean. Love your pictures, love your blog… oh yes we are very lucky to call this please home :)

  57. One of the best and most BEAUTIFUL posts I’ve come across in a long time! :)

Unfortunately its normal for unhappy people to lash at out and put down people whom they are jealous of.

Your blog and your photos are LOVED! Deep down No Name is probably one of your biggest fans!

  58. Vanessa says:

What is it with these blog trolls? This little culture of haters out there is insidious. I don’t have a blog myself, but I love reading them. Most of my favourite bloggers have mentioned this problem quite recently. Why can’t these people just log off instead of spreading their bile? Such cowardice.

  59. missy says:

Sarah, What a shame that “No Name” cannot appreciate the simple beauty that your blog portrays.
I have found your blog, and cannot tell you what joy it brings me to follow your pictures of the idyllic life you have made for you and your family. From far away in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, I dream of one day living with the beach a short stroll away!
But for now, it is great to see what life is like in your simple Beach Cottage! Keep up the awesome blog, with the beautiful photos!

  60. Samantha says:

Preach it sister! Your awesome, and that’s that! Loving you big, all the way from Canada! <3

  61. izzie says:

Am sure I speak for all your followers when I say – We think your blog is great, your pics are beautiful and we look forward to reading about what you are up to. What a very unhappy life that “no name” person must have to take the time and trouble to post that comment. If I ever look at a blog tha
t I don’t find to be my cup of tea – I simply don’t go on it again. Happiness is the best revenge for everything – And you sure seem like a happy, sorted person to me.
    Keep blogging!! xxxxx

  62. Marcia says:

Maybe ‘No-Name’ is lacking a little self confidence. That usually has something to do with rude comments. I had one on my blog once, it took me for a loop. She pretty much called me a racist because I love to collect “Black folk art”. I find it beautiful, and am in no way a racist! When I e-mailed her and explained my reasoning she never responded. But it did make me more sensitive to people’s feelings. Your No-Name’ however simply needs glasses.

  63. melissa says:

This good ol’ country song says it best: “God is great, beer is good and people are crazy”. You rock, Sarah, and as if you do anything that you do for validation, especially from loonies!! :)

  64. ellen says:

Oh the trolls! Ain’t life grand? So sorry your pictures don’t satisfy his very discerning eyeballs – mine are quite happy with the offerings!

  65. maggie says:

Whoa. It takes a big person to leave a crappy comment like that and then call themself ‘no name’. Time for them to schedule an eye exam, I think.
I love your photos…these beautiful images take me to a place I will probably never get a chance to see in person. Blog on!!

  66. Julie Johnson says:

I think your blog is one of the best out there. It’s the first thing I check out when I turn on my computer every day. I gain so much inspiration from your blog and the spectacular pictures you take. I wish I had a third of your talent. This “no name” person needs to have their head examined, by a proffessional, I think.

  67. Jem says:

I had my first blog troll encounter just last week and as it coincided with a bit of a non blogging funk I’ve found I just haven’t blogged properly in almost a fortnight but you’re completely right – I blog for me anyway so sod the trolls!

Your images are gorgeous Sarah, such a lovely way of escapism if ever I tire of home and England, I’d love to have your eye and way with a camera!

    Jem xXx

  68. Heather says:

Apparently “no name’s” mama didn’t teach them the rule that “If you don’t have anything nice to say….then don’t say anything at all”…It is ridiculous that an actual adult finds pleasure in hurting someone else’s feelings….he/she must have a sad sad life. I have to say that from a girl who lives smack dab in the middle of the USA….. far from any ocean…your life seems very lucky indeed..so keep up the amazing work so a girl like me can fantasize!

  69. Candy says:

Well, using the moniker ‘No-Name’ kinda says it all. Cowardly, is what comes to my mind. I love your blog AND your photos…I’m always inspired by what you do!

  70. Lark says:

Wow! No-name must really be feeling awful about his/her no-name self. As for equipment, I use a little point and shoot Sony camera to take all my kids’ pictures and they are my greatest treasures. Your pictures are inspiring and allow me to pick up and head to the Lucky Country anytime I want…for free!

  71. Alima says:

I guess they didn’t think your blog and your pics were too bad because they hung around to look at them all. What an idiot. As my husband says, “jealousy is a stinky cologne.” I think he stole that from a movie, but anyways :)
And what a coward too! If you are that pompous and opinionated you should at least be willing to say who you are!

You rock Sarah! Anyone who says otherwise is lame :)

  72. Linda Dobens says:

Sara, This person is obvioulsy a coward, since they don’t even have the guts to leave their name. If this person was confident enough in themselves and thir opinion they would leave their name. It is jealousy and don’t have avery good self image. Don’t let this bother you! You are great!

  73. catherine says:

i know nothing about photography, but if i find something aesthetically pleasing, i dont think i really need to know. i do know i like pretty and when i visit, pretty is what i get.
i love your blog mostly for the pictures…gives me a chance to live, vicariously, on the other side of the world. keep up the good work.

  74. Dana says:

I love everything about this post especially your photos. They’re beautiful!

  75. IAMSNWFLAKE says:

Let him/her enjoy his/hers 5 minutes of fame … this must be the only way he/she finds to get some attention. Your blog, your pictures, your thoughts are beautiful and have earned you your fair share of friends, followers and admirers. Keep it up and don’t let these mean creatures discourage you.

  76. DogsMom says:

Why must people (even hard to call no name that) waste precious life time on such rude and immature activities. And no name wonders why he has no friends.
It is very apparent to anyone who opens their eyes that you do live in Lucky Country.

I am so happy you see the beauty around you and care enough to share it with those of us you’ve never met except online.

  77. Maureen says:

wow, people really take the time to write something like this to someone who’s blog they don’t like?
What’s happened to the off button on their computer? Why even go to a blog if you don’t like it?
Anyway, I like your blog and photo’s very much! Keep it up Sarah!
    Maureen xx

  78. Maureen says:

oh, one more thingy, I would be soooooo happy the day my foot would even make contact with the lucky country,
so you enjoy it and show me the pictures anytime!
    Maureen x

  79. Ruth says:

Obviously No Name was reading your blog in the first place, not like anyone was forcing them.
    Keep up the great work!

  80. indiansummer says:

    Haha, awesome, Sarah!

  81. Angie says:

GRRRRRR Makes me very angry. I could write a book long response, but wont. Just know that we love you, all that you do, all that you write about and all your photos. You make more difference in some of our lives than you would ever know. :) Hope that didnt sound too creepy. But some of us are dealing with some pretty serious stuff…and you are a bright spot to many of our days.

  82. Lassiegirl says:

Trolls roam the earth, particularly here in America. Never mind “no name” who wasn’t even brave enough to make up a name! I enjoy everything about your blog, mostly how it gives me joy. Thanks for pressing on past the trolls and sharing your “lucky country”, happy moments, DIY tips, treasure finds, AND those pretty pics that give us non-trolls a respite in our crazy days. I think “no name”‘s mother did not teach it the rule, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all and probably didn’t learn the golden rule, do unto others as you’d have done unto you. Please, keep on, Sarah :)

  83. Kim says:

WHAT??? you have to be kidding right????? first off wheres their blog?? secondly jealousy is a sincere form of flattery!! if your photography is so bad how come they seem to spend a good long time looking at it!!!?? hmmm!!! i have never been and can see why they call it the lucky country!!! wow!!!!

  84. I’m so sorry you had a troll like that come along. I LOVE your photography. I WISH mine could be that nice. I know my blog is still in it’s infancy and I’ve much to learn on blogging and taking good photographs and such. Keep up the good work, and I’ll be coming back time and time again to your blog.

  85. people are weird…need to find something better to do and I always wondered how people have so much time to go and seek out blogs to write nasty comments…geez I barely have enough time to do what i do everyday and I work from home.

  86. Ya know, we all come across blogs we don’t “connect” with – we all have different styles, different opinions, different ways of saying things – and that’s a truly beautiful thing. But to think that someone would have the gall to pitch up and say something like that just astounds me. Your world here is too beautiful to allow any room for any doubt at all that what you are doing makes a whole lot of people happy to tag along. Ignore the haters, hun! Your photography, your blog and your little part of the blogosphere is fabulous which is why so many of us keep coming back for more xxx

  87. mel says:

Some people just need to be told…” DON’T HATE…CONGRATULATE”
your pics and blogs are wonderful!

    smiles form Nova Scotia

  88. beth anderson says:

You have got to be kidding me…”no name” might need to go get his/her eyes checked!!!
    Talk about a miserable person!!!
Your blog and pics are first rate in my book!!!

  89. Yowza is right, Sarah! Sounds like “No Name” needs a life….and a major attitude adjustment in courtesy. Don’t let it get to you, girl. WE know a good thing when we see it! ♥

    xoxo laurie

  90. Amen to not taking that blog troll’s comments to heart. It is a shame that these trolls exist in this world-as lovely as the world is. I think that your blog is beautiful and your photographs are breathtaking. Carry on!!

  91. Ruth says:

Your blog is filled with beauty. I love your photos and all that you share. If No Name does not like it then they can stay away. I don’t understand why people must be so negative.

Your images posted here are just gorgeous. Keep up the fabulous work. I always enjoy a visit to your blog.

  92. Clueless troll! Your pics are amazing, both inside the home and on a gorgeous walk. You DO live in the Lucky County duckie and we love you!

  93. Sherri says:

Oh I know that saying…Stick that in your pipe, and smoke it! LOL…What’s not funny is No Name raining on someone’s parade with hateful remarks. I do not like that about the bad apple bloggers either …they, in a word, suck. I love your blog and photos, and from the comments I see posted 99% of everyone else does too – No Name can qualify the 1%. They must feel pretty lonely. I love the Sea photos you shared! Gorgeous! The chorus to my favorite Tim Myers song “Beautiful World” is – “It’s a beautiful world I see, everything looks differently”….and thank you for sharing your world, because it is, indeed, beautiful.

  94. Tina S says:

Pish-posh! Love your stuff…but no-name will always be just plain old mean!

  95. Brenda Kula says:

You tell ‘em, Sarah! I remember back when you had one or two of these lovely individuals hanging out and causing useless trouble. They’re what you call cowards. We here in Texas don’t take to cowards too well.

  96. susan says:

your pictures are lovely and so are you! susan

  97. Viv says:

Hey Sarah, I guess I am what you sometime term a ‘lurker’, but today I am so furious, I just have to make a comment. This moron, Mr No-Name, obviously needs to own a giant camera lens to compensate for other parts of his life that are…… how should I say it…….lacking. Good luck to you, your blog is very entertaining and I love how you love Australia as much as I do! It is, indeed, the lucky country.

  98. michelle says:

after reading a lot of these lovley comments you must know that you are well loved in the Blog world and and “no name” is haveing a bad day I hope they reconsider your marvolous!

  99. Hard to believe some ninny would bother. Must need to pump themselves up. Anyhoo, I for one am in awe of what you do, Sarah, and am constantly inspired. Don’t let the ninnies get you down! ;-}

  100. Vicki says:

Wow, sounds like ‘no name’ needs to get a life.
Who says things like that? A coward, that’s who.
I, for one, appreciate your photos and blog. Love, in fact.

My comment for ‘no name’, you commented as ‘no name’ because you are a coward. It’s called keyboard courage, and I’d bet my bottom dollar that if you were to see Sarah in RL there is no way in hell you would say what you wrote to her face. Gutless.

  101. glenda b says:

I’ll just say “amen” to all of the good comments above. I LOVE your blog, Sarah. I love your pictures-especially those of the water. Keep up the good stuff for all us BC friends!!:-)

  102. Kimberley B. says:

Sarah, your Blog was one of the first I ever discovered and you had me at hello, I love your Blog, and all your photos and your great sense of adventure, hence your move to one of the most beautiful places on earth!! The real lesson for everyone with regards to “no name” is that if you don’t have something good to say, don’t say it at all!

  103. What a splendid retort.

  104. woops. pressed the post button too quickly. Good for you and loved all your beautiful photos

  105. Jan Johnson says:

No Name is an idiot! I was JUST thinking on your last post what gorgeous photos you take – I always have a sense of peace and beauty when I look at all the beautiful designs you do. Sounds like a case of jealousy to me! Australia is beautiful – I love my armchair travels from the US through your photos and hope I can visit there with my daughters someday.

  106. hey there! wow beautiful photos….. I love beaches and I am so in love with them….! I may not be a good photographer but will try to get nice photos for my blog. I admire people making good in photography like you. I’ve been to australia and I love your place ….!

i love your blog! will be follwing then. cheers!

  107. Deneen says:

Congrats on the Romantic Homes feature!

  108. lotusjude says:

I love you your blog and your photos. I was born in the lucky country and sometimes take all the spectacular beauty for granted. You photos remind me to stop, look and breathe.

  109. Nicole says:

My mother always told me that comments like that mean one thing: jealousy. Regardless of whether or not that was the case for “no name”, we all know that your blog and photos are directly reflective of the blogger. Lovely.
I always like to tell myself, “It ain’t no thang.” ;)

  110. Nat's Nest says:

You have a GREAT blog! And your pics are great. That troll should shove it!

  111. Mary says:

OMG…what a horrid blog troll! We are such a lucky country he or she has got no idea.

  112. The Freckled Minx says:

All your lovely photos and creative and humourous BC spunk and then some sad ol’ troll that lacks any fibre to be taken seriously stops by. There, there troll – get a life you might just enjoy it!

  113. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so this beholder loves your blog and images – nothing average there – keep up the great work Sarah, and please don’t take any notice of jealous little Coward Trolls!

PS I too love taking photo’s – I am not a professional, but you know what – I just don’t care! I love doing it, it brings be joy, I share my images because I think they represent beauty! If you like them Great if not, thats fine – as I tell my daughters daily – don’t say anything unless you have something nice to say!

  114. Zosia says:

Ansel Adams didn’t have “better gear” either. Anyone with “better gear” can take a photo. It’s much harder to take good photos with a simpler camera and you do and many people come here to admire them. Bet the anonymous blog troll does not even get up from a chair to do anything, because only people who never try anything can criticize others in this manner.

  115. Amanda says:

Well, No Name, the reason Australia is called The Lucky Country is because YOU don’t live here. What a FOOL, you have NO idea what you are talking about so when you have EXPLORED this LUCKY country you should come back to abc and say SORRY for being such a TROLL.

Sarah I love how you capture your special part of OUR amazing country, and I’m sure I don’t need to tell you to ignore this fool but I must say, “We’ve got your back babe”!
    Cheers, Amanda

  116. Manda says:

    Hi Sarah,
I absolutely LOVE your blog. I check in with you everyday and am always happy to see your photos and read your thoughts. I live in the lucky country and am very glad that you do too.
    Best wishes, Manda

  117. There are people out there that are just SO unhappy…and trying to make other people feel unhappy lets them not have to look at themselves…I feel sorry for those people. Just can’t see the love and life right in front of them…how sad.
You my dear take BEAUTIFUL photos and I adore looking at them…and I just wish I could spend some time in that wonderful country. It’s one of the most amazing places I’ve ever seen. :)

Thank you for always sharing….and ps..it’s not the quality of the camera that matters…it’s the beauty you capture through the lens that does. :)

    Many hugs.

  118. Toni says:

You take wonderful pictures THANK YOU for sharing.

  119. Anja says:

Anyone who writes horrid things and doesn’t have the guts to put their name to it is a coward. Why bother being outright nasty. If you haven’t got anything nice to say, then don’t say it!!
I have never been to Australia but you make me want to visit.
I know nothing about photography but enjoy looking at your pictures.
I can see the fun you must have whilst taking them…and isn’t that what it’s about after all – a bit (or rather a lot) of fun?
Ignore ‘no name’ and keep doing what you are doing as it’s great xx

  120. kerrie says:

I’m sorry but this just makes me laugh! Stick that in your pipe!!! love it. And Blog Troll…love that name for it. Glad you are handling it with some sassy grace. I just ignor them too.

  121. Jinia says:

That is cowardly and ill mannered … I adore your blog and photographs. Keep up the fantastic work!

  122. Your photos are awesome! So no name is blind as well as rude.

  123. Thea says:

I shouldn’t laugh but the words :blog troll” do make me laugh. I think you handled the situation splendidly. It’s funny how these “blog trolls” are always called ‘no name’ or “anonymous”. Gutless and no glory! BTW I love your photos.

  124. No name has also no eyes, no taste and no education. I enjoy both your blog and photos. I’ve spent some months in New Zealand and my biggest regret is not to have had the opportunity to take this chance to fly to Australia. Thanks to you, now i’m back in France, i can get samples of your beautiful country. Just don’t change anything !

  125. Suzanne says:

Hey Sarah…GREAT post about the trolls. I’ve also met a few…yuck!:) I LOVE your photos and was going to ask exactly what kind of camera you used, hoping i just might take a few half as good as yours! Anyway, you managed to make a post about trolls beautiful…good for you. The best defense:)

  126. Chas says:

All I can say is that someone who takes the time to be negative to someone they don’t know is an unhappy person with too much time on their hands. I still believe that old saying that when you make a judgement on someone else you most often are making a judgement on yourself, but are too cowardly to make changes within yourself to get better. I read your posts about photography and LOVE them! I also love stopping by to get YOUR perspective of your beautiful country! Keep doing what you do :-)

  127. Patty says:

I love your pictures. they are inspiring and beautiful.

  128. Kim Salter says:

I just stumbled on this blog, and you had me smiling, laughing and ooohh-ing and ahhing ( beautiful photos) you handled the nastieness beautifully <3

  129. Anna says:

I, too, have just found your blog……I think your photos are wonderful. If we all stopped doing what we love because some idiot makes a comment such as the above none of us would be doing anything. I myself do fused glass and while I am no great artist (far from it), I at least have found something I enjoy doing, such as is also obvious from your photographs. You have captured some images of this wonderful part of our country which can only bring pleasure to many.

  130. Anna says:

Oh yes, I have also just voted for you.

  131. Susan says:

your blog troll is just unlucky enough never to have come here…….

I have travelled far & wide, lived abroad and desire to do both again ….. but my goodness me…. when Australia got made the mold was broken….. I could list a bazillion reasons why it’s called the lucky country but top of my list has to be that your troll doesn’t grace our shores!

and I hasten to add that anyone can take good photos with any type of camera…. it’s like wine, or cheese, we all enjoy what we enjoy, just because you don’t like the wine I like or the cheese I choose or the photos I take does not mean they aren’t GOOD. Enough said. Trolls be gone XX

  132. I love your blog. It’s one of the few I check almost every day. Even though I decorate in a different style (I’m partial to Mediterranean) I just love all your pictures and your posts. That is the ultimate sign that your blog is awesome – it’s specific but universal. You have created such a beautiful atmosphere and a bunch of followers (as I’m seeing from all the comments :D). I feel a moment of peace when I look at your pictures and read your posts. Thank you for that!

Your troll is not only rude, but also is just plain wrong!

  133. Oh Sarah, some people are just plain jealous and thus rude! Your blog and your photography are beautiful and are a representation of you and no one else, it’s all a matter of what you love. Your love of your home and your country is why your blog is so interesting to me and I’m always checking in to see what you are up to. Please don’t let anyone get you down, people have horrible manners now a days and need some common sense, Hey NO NAME, it you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all!
Sarah please keep doing what you love, your blog rocks and so do you!

  134. Gina says:

Hi Sarah… I have just found your blog and was reading this post….I cant believe somebody would be that mean spirited, I thought your photos were very inspiring. I am an Aussie and I have just started my own blog about a month ago….I had no idea that people would leave horrible comments like that!!! But…..I loved your retort!

  135. Nicole says:

    Party POOPER!!
there is always one in the crowd. We love your photography and your blog and your camera and everything about how much you love the lucky country. YOur photography has come a long way since the early days and tit was good then!!! Keep up the great work. You make my day everyday I have my cuppa and read your blog. I wouldnt care if you put up blurry photos either!!! I always pick a photo and make it my background on the computer or put on my sceensaver so I can look at it all day!!!! ( i hope this doesnt breech copyright

  136. Lori R. says:

Maybe we should all say a big Thanks to the negativity of Sarah’s blog troll as she once again wrote one more great post with wonderful photos. If not for the troll, Sarah wouldn’t have writtten this. So one person’s stupidity and negativity gave the rest of us more enjoyment. I say, “bring it on Blog Troll. You can’t Best the Besties.” :D You go Sarah!

  137. Marcia says:

Somehow I missed this post, but I agree with the others. Your blog is beautiful and an inspiration for everyone, especially we beach lovers! At first I thought you were talking about a virus your computer caught when you said “blog troll”, lol. Such a great name for them.
For all of us who’d love to come to Australia but may never get a chance to, thank you, thank you, thank you! You let us visit and give us a glimpse of the Lucky Country!

  138. Loribeth says:

Go ahead and delete the comments made by trolls… But thank you for letting all of us see your beautiful photography!

  139. Love it :)

I once got a comment complaining that I put a watermark on MY photos – hmmmpphhh!

  140. Sibylle says:

dont worry about blog trolls! this is for them: http://www.polyvore.com/you_make_me_beautiful/thing?id=26498528
    Cheers, Sibylle

  141. Mimi says:

I LOVE your pictures and seeing where you live — the first post I saw of yours I became a follower because of your gorgeous ocean shots!! They made me want to be there : ) Love your blog and love these blogging tips since I’m a newbie! Some people are just tacky!!!
