Good afternoon BC’ers!  Everyone good?

Well I am very good and seeing as it is a beautiful Australian afternoon, sun shining through the windows in my bedroom I thought I’d show you the next part in the ruffle saga.

This is the Curtain Ruffle, we have had the Tablecloth Ruffle and the Laundry Bag Ruffle.  You can find those here and here.

I love this ruffle curtain, though it is perhaps a little too feminine for some, but with bare wood floors, old tan boots ;-) and a coastal stripe around I think I can just about get away with it…

I am not sure about the term ‘romantic’ in decor because that always brings up frou-frou to me…but here I think this ruffle is just that…though I think romantic is essentially much more girlie than I am…I like things plain and simple and pared back with the odd frill or crochet or ruffle thrown in for good measure…

So I put this ruffle curtain on the double-rod pole in my bedroom…the heavy white curtain runs to the outside, the natural linen and now the ruffle are on the inside of the pole…then there’s the white blind…I love layering in decor, in clothes, on beds…I think you need that if you use a lot of white….

and there is something rather serene about a white ruffle, hanging on an old sash window of a run-down cottage with the Australian sun beaming in…well at least in my romantic dreams there is…

Admittedly you may well not get away with this if you have males in the house…I can’t quite believe that there has been no mention from the males in mine about this one…she seems to have quietly fitted in as if she’s been here all her life…

...a bit like the boots really ;-)

’til later then

when I will be back with THE Saturday’s  MISSION  heehee…

ya ready for it??

p.s. full bedroom move-around-making-over to come next week

p.p.s. if you missed what the MISSION is go here

I loveeeeee the curtain. So far my favourite one from the ruffle saga. I wish I could get away with something like this in my room. It is romantic Sarah but not in the way we are used to it… This looks really elegant and classy(are the words that pop to mind) when I look at these ruffles of yours – it’s a whole new and better level of romantic (I share your setiments on the romantic theme but this is different)! Looking forward to the next mission…

I LOVE that ruffle curtain! I am just wondering if I could keep my toddler son from tearing it apart. Where did you find it Sarah? I saw a shower curtain in Urban Outfitters the other day that looked very similar and I wondered if I could turn it into a curtain! I also really love how you layered them. I do that a lot with my clothes, but I’ve never thought about it with curtains. Now I am dying to try!
Ok, off to see the ruffled laundry bag. Somehow I missed that one.

    • Alima says:

Just went back and checked urban outfitters – they have a curtain that looks just like the shower curtain. It may be the same curtain in your picture. Not sure, but it looks really similar. Anyway, I am dying to buy it. I wish it wasn’t $78 for one panel. I will have to wait, but I’ll be dreaming about it until then :)

    • sarah says:

Alima, it is a curtain from urban outfitters..the quality is not brilliant as many of the reviews on their site say…worth it for the ruffle porn tho x

  21. Rachel says:

    Love, love, love. :)

  22. Liz says:

    i ♥ ruffles.

  23. Mary K says:

Oh – second favorite photos ever (you pictures of the sea are my number one favorites). The glowing sun streaming through the window (something we’ve been short of here (something we’ve been really short of here in Minnesota lately).

You’ve made me a bit nervous – that vase on the camp stool – is there water in it?

    Mary in MN

    sorry about all the parentheses

  24. Gabrielle says:

Oh I LOVE that ruffle curtain…so I’ll be on the hunt. I curently have PB shower curtains up in my living room but as we move I’ll be looking for a change…maybe that one is it!

  25. Susan says:

I don’t think you can call the cottage run down anymore!
