Hello lucky ducks.

What ya doin’?

All good here, I am working on projects (the dresser is done and I have a black rattan type side table that is gros right now but is next for The BC Treatment)

So seeing as it’s Easter & I have a few stripes in abundance...I thought I’d give away a little Beach Cottage Tablescaping Pack…

just a little fun giveaway...though there’s still the Camera Giveaway on right now too, if you want something more fancy…have you entered that yet?  …remember you can comment more than once ;-)

So here we have some things from my shop...the mysterious super-duper disappearing beachy coastal shop that I own…it is opening again soon I think…there is a story to tell you about it…I didn’t expect what happened and so I shut the doors really really quickly…I’ll tell you about it very soon

anyway so here a little collection to tickle your coastal table dressing fancy…shells, nautical putty stripes, glass floats, fabric strips for tieing, the famous BC Runner, napkins and my fave putty natural string….just throw it together with some white flowers, a vintage tablecloth, some mason jars and bob’s your BC uncle ;-)

All you have to do to win is leave a comment on this post

answering this question

Just what will you be up to this Easter…picnic in the park, a big family meal, party-time, going out exploring looking for bagels ;-), climbing to the top of a mountain, boutique shopping, visiting a lighthouse…??

and if you don’t celebrate and you like BC Tablescaping packs welll just let me know what you’ll be up to this weekend

I’ll be right here with my fave new toy, my iphone with a Pimms in an adirondack reading all about what you are all up to…

For extra chances to win just do all that stuff.. you know…the social networking stuff, or the Facebook liking stuff, New Beach Cottage  Facebook Page (click here)

or the Google Friend Connect (right there on the sidebar) thin

(Please leave another comment for each social networking site you posted to…)

Just answer the above and you will be automatically entered to win..

Good Luck Beach Cottager’s

p.s. thanks so very much to all those who have voted for me in the blog competition

I’m still coming last

This weekend on the Southern California coast, I will go beach combing for sea glass and beautiful shells. As the daughter of a sea captain who grew up at the beach, I cannot venture too far from the water for too long…it draws me back…to see it, to smell it, to feel it…to drink it in…to nourish my soul.

  2. Amy SJ says:

I’ll be consuming as many Cadbury Mini Eggs as possible as this is the only time of year that you can buy them!

  3. Lisa says:

Packing up my Seattle apartment and moving back home to Southern California. Not so festive but I’ll be focused on how I am decorating my new place with inspiration from you Sarah! :)

  4. Karen Hancock says:

This weekend i will be letting husband run around after the kids as i have a couple of projects i would love to get done… painting a busroll canvas, afternoon nap (sick baby this week so need to catch up), and a blanket in the sun with a book i think! oh and easter egg hunts and melted chocolate, and hugs! and little boys jumping on me! i cant wait!

  5. Hopefully I’ll be creating a table with those lovely runners!

I sure wish I could be visiting a lighthouse, but we don’t have many here in Minnesota. We do have 5 or 6 on the North Shore of Lake Superior. One of these days I will post some pictures on our blog.
As for Easter, I will be driving to Minneapolis to visit my daughter and grandchildren.

    Hi Sarah,
I have a confession to make. I am one of the lurkers you have mentioned…. But I have decided to step up and not only come out from the lurking world (really doesn’t sound too nice does it!?) and say hello and thank you for your brilliant blog ..and to vote for you.( tick and tick) I wanted to vote again at the site however it said “thank you for your vote” but wouldn’t let me go and vote again. How do I do that?
Anywhoo thank you again Sarah for sharing your talent here on in blog world. I’m happy to be a non-lurker now. :) Have a good one. jo

  8. Deb Gray says:

Itls a 4 day weekend here in Central Ontario in Canada – whoohoo. So I will be visiting all the friends and family who will be coming up to the cottage this weekend. (Yes I live at the cottage in “Cottage Country” on a Canadian Beach :) We will be getting together for the family fruiends Thanksgiving dinner – and I may bring a home made pie from a local farmer market. I also plant to do some day tripping around the bay seeing some of those wonderful green shoots as they poke through the ground.

Family and friends at the cottage. It doesn’t getting much better. After reading you sitting on your Adirondack chair (called muskoka chair here) with your Pimm’s – hmmmm, I may have to pop by the liquor store and pick up a bottle of Pimm’s – serve with 7 up and a wedge of cucumber. mmmmmm

Happy Easter – however you all celebrate – to all the BC people and readers.

  9. Melissa Darr says:

I’m having the inlaws, (or should I say outlaws), over for easter lunch. We’re having a BBQ and then chocolate ripple cake…mmm!! (Got to go easy on the tummy after all those chocolate eggs or I would have gone to more trouble and done something like a red velvet cake!!). Organised for the kiddies to have an easter egg hunt. But before the inlaws get here we’re quickly popping over to the market to see if we can find us some goodies! hehehe!!! Can’t let easter get in the way of some treasure hunting….. ;)

  16. bobbie says:

  19. Elizabeth (ejay) says:

This Easter Hubby and I will be spending with our two sons and their families…..we will enjoy seeing the excitement and delight in our Grandchildren’s eyes on Sunday morning as they hunt for eggs (my five year old Granddaughter reminded me this morning that it’s just three more sleeps until the Easter Bunny visits)…..we will enjoy drinking tea and eating Hot Cross Buns and in general reflect on how darn blessed we are to have such a family to spend time with. We will also ‘catch up’ with an ‘old’ girlfriend I haven’t seen in fifteen years….

Thank you Sarah for such a lovely Blog, I can’t understand why you are coming last in the Blog competition (I have cast several votes)….anyway you don’t have to win for your readers to know your Blog rules!!!

Wishing you and all the BC Cast and Crew a very Happy and Safe Easter.

  20. I don’t even want to think about it..I am having about 30 people for brunch and egg hunting and games and stuff on Saturday. Whose idea was this??? It also happens to be the first time most of the people will see the house since we moved in…no pressure at all!!! LOL
oh..then on Sunday night I thought a quick 15 hour flight to Sydney would be just fine….just for 24 hours cause that’s how I roll.
I guess I won’t be getting much sleep for the next few nights!!! LOL

  21. Ashley Billings says:

This Easter weekend I will be soaking in the sun in Palm Springs with a book in one hand and a drink in the other! Amen.

  22. Eva D says:

I will be hosting an Easter egg hunt and brunch at my house for my family. We do it every year. My husband dresses up as the Easter bunny and hops around the yard with the kids, they get a kick out of it and I have to say I love seeing him in those big floppy ears :)

  23. Vicki K says:

After church, we will come home and make a big brunch. I have made fabric basket/bags for the chocolate Easter bunnies for my family. And we will laze around and enjoy each other’s company!

  27. Well I wont be climbing to the top of the mountain cause I’m already perched on it but will be heading on down to the flat lands to do a few touristy things in the city of Melbourne such as the King Tut exhibition at the museum although it may well be booked out over the break . Anyhow I love doing nerdly things like that! Oh and tracking down a bagel too cause you got me thinking (or craving) on that one.
Now I am being good and not entering the camera draw as am hanging out for my big *ss camera with etsy strap but I will go in the draw for this lubberly prize!!

  28. Kat says:

Something along the line of a few sleep in’s, lazy pj mornings, chocolate eating, (of course!) little outings with the kids (especially to the Botanical Gardens to play in the autumn leaves and snap pics of the kids and all of us really, having fun.) celebrating my b’day with a lunch out as a family and I would really love to laze about and read a book. (a rare treat with 4 littlies.)
We will also potter at home, do walks on the beach and in the bush and just enjoy relaxing as a family! It doesn’t get much better than this, especially in my favourite autumn weather :)

  29. Happy Easter, Sarah, and all your readers who celebrate the holiday! Easter used to be a happy celebration when my mom was alive. Mom, Dad, my brothers, my sister-in-law, my daughter and I would all go out for Easter brunch and enjoy spending hours together just gabbing away. I always loved those gatherings. Mom’s spirit left her body in 1990, though, and since then, Easter isn’t the same. We all do different things for the most part. Dad remarried, so he does things with his wife’s family. My daughter grew up and she does things with her family. This is life. Things change. And it’s all good and normal. Sometimes, my brothers, sister-in-law and I meet up somewhere for Easter dinner and we enjoy spending hours together just gabbing away.

  30. Melissa says:

This weekend my hubby and I will be busy planting over 60 murraya hedging plants in an attempt to give us some privacy and make our garden look pretty! Would LOVE this tablescaping pack to decorate an outdoor table in our backyard once it it is finally finished. Fingers double crossed! Have a lovely long weekend.

  31. Kristin says:

I will be taking on the role of the Easter Bunny…this will include making bunny footprints, using a stencil and some baby powder, on our wooden floorboards. Then laying a trail of hunting eggs that may or may not lead to two Red Tulip Chocolate Bunnies hidden somewhere in our house for our two kiddlywinks to find…Oh, and I might just hide the Rocky Road egg I bought in ‘secret’ for the big ‘kid’ in our house!

P.S. Happy Easter, Sarah! Keep doing what you do best!

  32. Susan says:

Daughter’s boyfriend is in town with us so we’ll celebrate our first Easter in years with a new family member…probably a new family member ;D.

  38. lacey says:

I will be taking my little one to a big family easter egg hunt! Can’t wait to see him get excited with all the other little kids =)

  39. I just got myself an iPhone at last too. Isn’t it fabulous?? I think I’ll be spending a fair amount of time on angry birds.

    TDM xx

  40. Debbie says:

We’ll probably sleep in late, have a relaxing brunch at home…and maybe go out to our favorite Mexican restaurant…a new Easter tradition for us here. Oh…and eating chocolate eggs & maybe a chocolate bunny or two, although we’ve been indulging in those little eggs for weeks now!

  41. Cricket says:

Oh Sarah~ you kill me! I love it all.. but I wish I could sit in that chair and read with you..instead I will be teaching my kids all Polish Easter traditions.,..and making them slave in the kitchen needing the dough for homemade pierogies… then after our last “Holiday” as a family ..(in process of divorce..) I will be jet setting off to Florida… to REALLY take a gander at my new place…on the water…..and start daydreaming about how to decorate. Since I am forfeiting EVERYTHING..houses, companies etc… just to get out of state with kids..ugh..
so I will smile away on Easter…and dream of days ahead!
    Have a wonderful Holiday!
    Cricket @ gypseanurse

  44. Em says:

  121. Deanne says:

We usually start our Easter feasting by having a Passover meal on Thursday night, roast lamb, flat bread, bitter herbs, wine (grape juice) and roast veges. Friday is homemade hot cross buns and hot chocolate for morning tea and fish and chips for tea, Sunday boiled eggs for breaky in our special egg cups, and lunch after church involves chicken. A special Easter egg hunt for the kiddos is a priority on Sunday morning too. So its all about food here.

  122. Rebecca says:

This weekend I plan on doing a little decluttering. It’s Spring even though it snowed today… I want to get the whole house cleaned out. We have so much mess and junk that is not needed and or wanted. I feel a huge purge coming on.

  145. Scribbler says:

Hmmmm… I wish I was at the beach, but no. Since we have no family nearby or little kiddies, I think my husband will grill a steak on charcoal, and I will make something simple and easy to go with, like a baked potato and green salad. The weather is supposed to be nice, so I think we’ll have dinner outdoors. Happy Easter to you and the BC crew!

  146. Sally says:

My husband and take care of my elderly parents and we will be having them over for Easter dinner. This could make a really pretty table scape :))
This Easter we will be having a quiet family day. I am planning a meal and it will be a small get together with my 3 boys my husband and my cousin. I am hoping the sun will make an appearance (not looking very promising here on the east coast) so we can spend some time outside.
Thanks for sharing some happy beachy supplies to make a great looking table.

  151. Boy could I use this pretty kit on Sunday!
My current table and chairs on my deck where I will be serving up some goodies for Easter is a mismatched mess (and not in a good shabby way). The mister and I have been looking high and low for a new set and our choices are colliding! So, I will be delving into your archives and taking notes and hope to put together a pretty tablescape so nobody will notice the ugly table and chairs!

We are actually going to have a little one visit…no little pitter patter of feet in years so I am looking forward to hiding some eggs!

I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed!

  152. Fun giveaway of your sig stuff, Sarah! I’m a singer with a church job, so I’ll be warbling my way through Easter morning and then joining my extended family for Ukrainian Easter “brunch” in the P.M. (since that’s when I’ll be skipping out of church). I’ll be baking babka tomorrow… Happy Easter to you!

  153. Suellen Coveney says:

This Easter my mother-in-law is flying over to visit us in the West from South Australia. We’ve planned a sumptuous lunch with prawns, crayfish and squid, not to mention pork and lamb done in the webber. It will be a real family day with all of my mother-in-law’s children and grand children present. Home-made icecream sandwhiches for dessert and lots of chocolate eggs to nibble on. On Monday we’ll go to Fremantle and have fish and chips at Kailis Brother’s on the waterfront. The Tuesday Anzac day Public Holiday will be for resting and recovering.

  154. Cottage Gal says:

What a beautiful package you have put together! L-O-V-E it!!!!!!!!!! Every item would make a nice addition to our beach cottage . . .

As for Easter, well, it’s my favorite holiday – always has been, always will be. I’m 30 and up until 3 years ago (when the first baby was born in our family), my older siblings and I still did an egg hunt. Seriously. We are super duper competitive and it was always so much fun! This year, we will be enjoying our first Easter in the south . . . picnics at the beach, an egg hunt by the harbour (for my 2 year old, not for me – darn!), yacht watching, and sun bathing.

    Happy Easter to you!

  155. Elisabeth says:

On Saturday we will be going to two outdoor egg hunts and a big family dinner on Sunday after church. My mom is a great table decorator too!

  156. Peggy says:

We will start our Easter Sunday out with a simple breakfast of homemade yogurt with sliced strawberries drizzled with honey, fresh coffee, and warm muffins. Afterwards our boys will play a round of hot and cold in order to find their Easter baskets (yes even though they are teenagers I still do up a basket for each one!) and then we will prepare for church. The children’s choir will be singing so we will need to arrive a bit early so that our youngest can join his friends for a bit of practice. The weatherman is calling for severe thunderstorms (and possible tornadoes) this weekend so most of our activities will be indoors. Our afternoon will be spent enjoying dinner and then just relaxing together as a family (and probably some last minute scrambling to finish homework before the next school week begins!)
Oh and we will be calling both sets of our parents to wish them a Happy Easter!

  157. Forgot to come back and say I liked your new facebook page… looks great! I “like” it even better ;-}

  212. Victoria says:

We are going to church Easter morning to celebrate and then it is off to my sister-in-law’s house to be with family. My little cottage is too little for the whole gang, but I will take a salad, some green beans and key lime pound cake. I am also doing a sort of Easter eve dinner for just my family with lamb and artichokes. I have been a little remiss in keeping up as I have been gardening to my little hearts delight — Roses, veggies, inculding artichokes, apples, violets, and finally hydrangeas. I am scouring the world for some bricks and then my adirondack chairs and then I will kick back for the summer. Happy Easter!

  213. Gabrielle says:

I love your site! We will be having dinner with the family and eating lots of chocolate!!!

  214. indiansummer says:

We don’t celebrate, but today (Saturday!) we stayed home and did some clearing, cleaning and organizing; basically, some spring cleaning. So tomorrow we might just go to brunch, or to the beach or a park to relax and pat ourselves on the back and, no matter which religion, to thank [blank] for all the happiness we’ve enjoyed. We are very “blessed” and/or lucky. :)

Happy Easter (or just Sunday), Sarah! The best to you and your loved ones. :-)

Love this give away!!! I have just arrived from my 3 day Easter get away. We (hubby and the kids and I) spent it up in a friend’s farm in the middle of no where surrounded by the Australian bush. We had big dinners, lunches and breakfasts with my friend’s family and their mates also. I sat on their deck enjoying chocolate, hot cross buns and a good cuppa in the cool afternoon breeze listening to the birds, frogs and a whole lot of laughing kookaburras (!) accompanied by the sounds of squealing children. Went for a picnic by the river and enjoyed a very fast boat ride where I got to see a sea eagle soar… This morning woke up (yes I got to sleep in!) to the sound of squealing and excited foot steps of children as they hunted for chocolate eggs… Enjoyed fresh fish, calamari and chips by the river for lunch before the long drive home… Can’t get much better than that!

I’ve had a rough weekend (in and out of the hospital!) Today (Easter), I took my son out for breakfast and then we enjoyed spending time in our yard. We were lucky to have a nice morning/early afternoon weather wise. It was relaxing! I posted a pic of my son covered in chocolate on my facebook page. Good times.

This is an awesome giveaway, my eyes glazed over at the sight of all those stripes!!

On Easter weekend I spent a lovely day with my in-laws and a traditional Eastern European feast, before heading to the otherside of the state for dinner with my family, ending the day in a cocktail lounge celebrating mine and my younger sister’s birthdays.

Plus I spent a lot of time working on a steamer strunk I want to use as a coffee table. Just working my way through forty layers of paint and Batman stickers (My guess is a kid’s toy chest)

We had a wonderful Easter – it was all about the grandkids. We started Saturday night with an egg hunt in the dark with flashlights – what fun that was – the kids loved it. On Sunday was the usual egg hunt, games, and a special scavenger hunt. Oh what fun it was and the weather was almost perfect. Love your giveaway – we are just trying to change up the house a bit with a beachy touch – blues, whites, and some sea decor so this would be perfect timing. Hope I win. Gia2366@gmail.com

Somehow I missed this one … I’m not sure if I’m too late. Just in case … we started the day bright and early, our youngest just couldn’t wait until sunrise to follow the jelly bean trail to the Easter baskets. We had a peaceful day … my sis and her 3 girls came over for dinner and an egg hunt. Nice and relaxing this year :-) We dyed eggs the night before … some of us even wore fuzzy bunny ears! XOXO
