Pink, Creamy, Blushy BC things…

So this is what I have been up to with pink, blushy things.

I have been taking photographs of them.

I am challenging myself to move out of my photography comfort zone and what better than a delightful plop of cream-filled beauty than a macaron to shoot?

It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that after using these for photography one can pop them in one’s mouth and feel the most joy one has for a while.  Nothing at all.

Let me tell you there is something oddly addictive though about taking photos of these things…I feel the need to hot-foot it back to the patisserie and try the pistachio ones next…which would be much more at home here ‘cos they are creamy, pale and nearer to being white.

The French I believe have long been in on the secret of these little delights and while I have scoffed the real mccoy walking along the street in Lille, I must say that these, via Zumbo, nearly, very nearly, hit the French mark.

But not quite.

I guess it’s a long way to France.

Whaddya think of my macarons? ;-)

my first time at joining in Sweet Shot Tuesday, thanks Darcy

I’m such a lover of macaroons! Ever since I visited Laduree in Paris I’ve been slightly gaga for them, I had a gorgeous rose flavoured one fairly recently that a friend brought me back from London and it was delicious!

Your photos make them look even more mouthwatering if that’s possible :-)

    Jem xXx

  7. Visually yummy!Great job, beautiful blog!

They look too gorgoeus to eat!!! I’m not a fan of pink unless it’s this particular shade….. I know what you mean about taking photos of things. Since getting better aquainted with my camera (nothing special just your average digital camera) I have become addicted to taking pictures of things (instead of just my kids and pets). I love the detail that I can capture. I’m having so much fun that we will hopefully be upgrading to something a little more “professional” by the end of the year (hubby is very happy about this).

I baked a dark choc cake with dark choc icing (thanks nigella best icing ever!) with some sprinkles (as promised for my little girl), it turned out so beautiful, I had never baked anything so gorgoeus that I took a whole bunch of pictures even as it was being eaten and emailed all of my friends to share my joy at the beauty of this cake! So in regards to this post I can relate, I can trully see how beautiful they are and why you would want to photograph them!

That picture is amazing. I look so pretty, yet so yummy at the same time. Your blog is amazing and it’s so nice to see your pretty pictures of beach living. I live in the desert so the closest thing to beach living for me is a kiddie pool and sandbox :)

  10. Katherine says:

Beautiful macaroons! So pretty! I LOVE, LOVE to eat them! They are such lovely things in so many ways – your photographs : ) , their amazing colours, and of course their delicous texture & flavour! Perfect.

    Yummy project Sarah! Well done.

Sarah, Lille is on my list as I hear it is an easy trip on the Eurostar. So as well as french antiques I will look out for macarons! Lovely shots. Robx

  25. Sharyn says:

Just delicious photo’s!! Imagine the mac’s are fabby too. Reminds me of Paris and my first taste of these scrummy little treats. Run back and grab some of those pistachio one’s so we can see them too. :) Thanks for the sweet post!

  26. Susan says:

Oh My GOD I have the worst love affair with these crazy delicate insanely gorgeous culinary delights. I demolished them in Paris over & over. The pistachio ones are quite simply the best …..

    Sarah, I told you about Peregian Beach when we met. Well tucked away just just just off the main street there is the most darling little patisserie where an amazing French man creates these treats just for me {that’s not at all true but it feels so special there!! haha}
He made Rosewater & White Chocolate ones for me at Christmas so I could create the Trifle on the cover of the Donna Hay Christmas Magazine. Oh MY!!!!!! I had a pistachio one from there just yesterday…. *sigh

    I also bought myself a book on making macarons for Valentines Day….. yep, from me to me :) {mainly to drool over the pictures}

and your photographs are gorgeous. Do you have a macro lens??

    • sarah says:

I know they are to die for…funny how now I am nowhere near France i want them!!

(have to say these were not a patch…I was trying to be kind)

  27. Sue@housepretty says:

I don’t believe I have ever had these before. But, oh my, they look rather yummy! Pink is so pretty, and I love white. So there you go, and they’re edible. Can’t get better than that!

  28. Your photos are great and remind me that having one of these delicious cookies . . . is still on my list.

  29. Julie Johnson says:

Your photo makes it look so gorgeous and yummy, I wish I could reach into the computer and grab one. Love the color, although I.m not usually into pink. I’m more of a neutral girl. Love my whites.

  30. Just beautiful!!! And yummy-looking!
Love the soft colours here…so pretty Sarah!

  31. tami says:

Do you know…I still have not tried these French Macarons? I see them everywhere online, on T.V. but not seen them around town. Next time I visit the nearby larger city I’ll have to look for them. Wolfgang Puck did a spot on the Food Network about his favorite flavor. Which was a tease since I can’t run out for them. Your photos look amazing Sarah. My thoughts on photographing food is when one looks at the photo, they should want to “take a bite”. That is success in photographing food. And When I look at your photos, I do. You did a great job, they look wonderful. xoxo tami

  32. Ooooooooo…………….all things blushy and beautiful!!! Really pretty…………..and well……..yum!

I know it sounds kind of silly but I love taking pictures of food! lol Maybe because it’s a good way to enjoy it without eating it!
    Hugs and God bless!

  33. Sibylle says:

    they look awesome!!! Yummmmi!

  34. Bibbitybob says:

Gorgeous photographs – the macaroons look delicious. Can you believe I’ve never tried them?! x

  35. You had me at pink. And yes the “macarons” (your post does call for French spelling, does’t it?) look very French, even to me. I had a tea party post with French macarons last week. You’re a welcomed guest to that tea party if you want to visit, though my picture are nowhere as beautiful as yours (“they don’t reach your ankle” is the French saying to express that idea).

  36. HRH Sarah says:

I think I need some, too.

  37. I keep finding these everywhere. I guess I am going to have to break down and try one. I have seen books, blogs, pics, and recipes for these everywhere so now I am getting curious.

  38. terri says:

i have been seeing these everywhere! i want to attempt to make them! i just did a post on all things pink yesterday! have a great weekend!!!

  39. indiansummer says:

    So pretty…

  40. Holly L says:

Oh my! Everything about this is too much – in a good way. Pink Macaroons filled with creamy goodness! Thanks so much for linking up to Tickled Pink – this absolutely tickles me pink!

  41. Ocean Soul says:

I think your take on pink is way too much fun and delicious looking. I have seen these macaroon cookies popping up all over the blogosphere! What’s the deal? Are they really actually that tasty? I mean c’mon, how do they compare to a homemade chocolate chip cookie, for example?

  42. Ruthanne says:

Mmmmm. I want to lick my screen, but I won’t . . . it’s covered with dust and other not so tasty stuff. ::snort::

    Those look beautiful and delish!

  43. Elena says:

Gorgeous photos!! And these look incredibly delicious! I’ve always been very intimidated to try making macaroons.

  44. Great pictures. It’s always nice to get out of our comfort zones and then to hit it out of the park on top of that…sweet.

  45. Danelle says:

Love these! Especially the last one.

  46. Lovely composition and processing!

  47. julie says:

SO pretty! What a lovely prop!
